What to check before you book

Small differences matter more than the headline rate. Confirm these before you pay:

Licence and age. At least one local firm asks for 21 and two years, so check the rule that applies.
Deposit. It may be the insurance excess or a fixed sum, by cash or card; ask when it is released.
Insurance. Standard, full and comprehensive cover are not the same. Ask about the excess.
